Welcome to project - Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture!
The main goal of this project is to create an impressive logo that represents Kaunas city. It should also be clear and easily recognizable, hence the main accent is the first leter of Kaunas city name.
These are some shetches of my ideas for Kaunas 2022 European Capital of Culture logo. I play around with shapes of letter “K”, compositions, fonts and main symbols of Kaunas city.
Logotype consists of three elements: letter K, confluence and rays. River confluence is subtly portrayed in the mark since it is one of the main symbols of Kaunas city. Impression of empathy and warmth is expressed via harmonic color and font combination. Ray-like clear space symbolizes openness of the city, a warm welcome to visit and get to know Kaunas better.
